Remembering Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona
December 7, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The Veterans Museum has prepared a 45-minute presentation to share the history through photos and recorded interviews with historians and veterans about the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, the sinking of the USS Arizona and the significance of this artifact.
The USS Arizona still sits where it first sank in Pearl Harbor after being attacked by the Japanese on December 7, 1941, forty feet below the ocean’s surface, serving as both a memorial and the final resting place for the 1,177 Navy and Marine servicemembers entombed within the ship’s hull. Included in the Veterans Museum display are photos and items honoring veterans from the Pearl Harbor attack and WWII. The artifact from the USS Arizona will now remain on permanent display in the Veterans Museum, located in San Luis Obispo.
This history presentation and unveiling will take place Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with doors open at 4:30 for Museum tours, located at 801 Grand Avenue, San Luis Obispo, suite 102.
